It has shallow calm waters and is ideal for families and children of all ages. There are two beach bars for refreshments and if you want excitement, you can try out some exciting water sports.
In addition to the calm and quiet, Alikanas has facilities to accommodate all visitors. There are luxury accommodations as well as simple bed and breakfast establishments. This is one of the most popular regions of Zakynthos in the summer.
Close to the beach you can find Askos Stone Park, a forest reserve and wildlife sanctuary. This site also incorporates agricultural research to help preserve farming, as well as an archaeological site where you can see the ancient stone structures from which the park gains its name.
The local tourist train will take you around this gorgeous area and there are plenty of walks and horse riding nearby.
North of the beach is Agios Nikolaos Shinari where you can get a boat trip to Navagio Beach and ferries to Kefalonia. This beach deserves at least one visit when you are staying on Zakynthos.
Situated on the north east of the island, the beach is close to Alikanas village which is just 16 kilometres from Zakynthos Town.
Lying between the villages of Alykes and Xehoriatis, it is located 17 kilometres from the airport.
