Nestling below the castle of Monolithos is Fourni Beach, a small and peaceful haven on the west coast with pebbles and crystal clear waters.
If you want to experience the wild and natural beauty of Rhodes, this is the perfect spot.
Like other beaches on the west coast of Rhodes, the sea can be rough, so this is not an ideal place for small children.
There are limited facilities with a few sunbeds and a small canteen where you can buy simple snacks. It is advisable to bring your own umbrella. However, there is some shade available from the rocks and pine trees on the right side of the beach.
From the shoreline you can see an unusual ship-shaped rock. Take the path running to the left and there are ancient rock carvings in the shape of baths. There are also some caves to explore. If you want to get away from crowds, this is a beautiful beach for a day trip.
Fourni Beach is on the southwest coast and is 3 kilometres from Monolithos Village where there are shops and tavernas.
Situated 58 km from Rhodes Airport and 76 kilometres from Rhodes Town, Fourni can be accessed by car or by walking, although the path to the beach is quite steep.
