Keri Caves

Near to the village of Marathia, the Grotto Keri is located on the south-western tip of the island peninsula.

In order to visit the caves you have to go by boat but there are plenty of organised trips from nearby towns. You are also allowed to rent a boat without a licence.

Some of the caves are big enough to allow a boat to enter. In others you can swim from the entrance to the inside and see the exquisite blue reflections not unlike the blue caves in the north of the island.

Organised trips to Keri include turtle spotting, a barbecue lunch and swimming in waters that go down to a depth of 20 metres.

The sea is so clear that you can see shoals of colourful fish and down to the floor of the ocean. This is an ideal place for snorkeling or scuba diving.

The headland of Keri is one of the highest parts of Zakynthos and the cliffs are another reason to visit this part of the island.

Breathtaking views over the beautiful blue sea and stunning sunsets make this a wonderful experience that will stay in your memory long after you return home.

Near to the diving centre, the National Marine Park and Turtle Island, Keri Caves are situated on the west coast of Zakynthos.

The caves are 25.2 kilometres from the airport and 26.3 kilometres from Zante Town.
