One of the most popular and well known beaches on Rhodes is Tsambika Beach on the East Coast. It has over 800 metres of soft sand.
Tsambika is ideal for children as there are plenty of shallow waters.
Overlooked by the famous Panagia Tsambika Monastery, this beach has many facilities including water sports, tavernas, shops and sunbeds with umbrellas.
Tsambika is a great place to relax and sunbathe. During the season there is a lifeguard on watch so children will be safe. Due to the lack of shade it is advisable to use an umbrella especially during the height of the summer when temperatures can reach over 45 degrees.
The watersports offer lots of child-friendly equipment and for the adventurous there is kite surfing, paragliding and exciting wave bouncing rides. During the summer winds are usually light so you do not have to worry about strong high waves.

The Beach is located 27 kilometres from Rhodes Town and lies between the city and Lindos, which is 24 kilometres further south. As well as the Monastery, nearby attractions are the Byzantine Museum at Archangelos and the Folklore Museum at Kolymbia.
